Bloomfield College Student of Montclair State University Capstone

Daisha Robinson is a passionate journalism student at Montclair State University, interning with Inkululeko since her junior year. Throughout her academic journey, Daisha’s curiosity and dedication have driven her to explore the intersections of education, culture, and international collaboration.

As a lead editor for the podcast series launched in partnership between the Syracuse City School District and learners in Makhanda, South Africa, Daisha has honed her skills in digital storytelling and cross-cultural communication. This project, funded by the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust, connects young people from diverse backgrounds and provides a platform for mutual learning and exchange.

Daisha's commitment to understanding global education issues culminated in a transformative experience in January 2024 when she traveled to South Africa. Funded by Bloomfield College, this was Daisha’s first international trip, and it provided her with invaluable insights into South African culture, education, and the work being done by organizations like Inkululeko.

Inspired by her experiences and interviews conducted with local community members in Makhanda, Daisha created Bridging Gaps: Inkululeko’s Role in South African Education—a film that explores the powerful impact of Inkululeko’s work in transforming education for South African youth.
